New leadership for Kaiser Permanente's Santa Rosa service area

Jonathan Watkins named new Senior Vice President and Area Manager

Santa Rosa, Calif., August 19, 2026 – Jonathan Watkins, MPA, FACHE, has been named senior vice president and area manager of the Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa service area. Watkins will have oversight of and is responsible for hospital operations at the Santa Rosa Medical Center and the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan for the area where nearly half of Sonoma County residents are Kaiser Permanente members.

Watkins is a seasoned health care and hospital leader with more than 15 years of experience overseeing hospital operations.

“Jonathan is a dedicated and compassionate health care leader who has a strong background in leading teams and driving for results,” said Kathy Bressler, MN, RN, senior vice president, Hospital and Health Plan Operations for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California. “He is a highly skilled and engaged leader who will work alongside our clinical teams to ensure we are delivering high-quality care to our patients, members, and the community.”

Watkins most recently served as president of City of Hope Atlanta, where he worked to improve patient care while also maintaining high-quality medical standards.

Prior to that, he was the chief executive officer at Broward Health Imperial Point, a 250-bed acute care facility in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Watkins also previously served as the chief operating officer for Kaiser Permanente’s Central Valley service area in California, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of three hospitals.

He succeeds Abhishek Dosi who is now serving as the senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente’s Golden Gate service area.
