Oakville Cross Road Bridge In Napa Co. Closed Due To Recent Earthquake

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake hit Napa County Thursday evening.

Announcement from Napa County Public Works:

Due to recent seismic activity, the bridge on Oakville Cross Road is closed until further notice.

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Napa County Thursday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake was reported at 7:53 p.m. 6 miles east-northeast of Yountville and 9 miles north of Napa, at a depth of 5.5 miles.

Following an inspection and recommendation from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Napa County Public Works has closed Oakville Crossroad Bridge, over the Napa River between Highway 29 and Silverado Trail.

Properties east of the bridge can be accessed from Silverado Trail and properties west of the bridge can be accessed from Highway 29. Motorists wishing to cross the valley floor in that area should make use of Yountville Cross Road or Rutherford Road (Highway 128).

The bridge, set for a planned replacement beginning in Summer 2015, will remain closed until further notice. Information will be provided as it becomes available.
