Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Hwy 12 In Sonoma Co. Identified
BREAKING: The San Joaquin County man may have been hitchhiking when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, CHP officials say.

SONOMA VALLEY, CA — The California Highway Patrol publicly identified a pedestrian struck and killed Sunday on state Highway 12 in Kenwood as Theodore Richard Erikson II, 51, a resident of the San Joaquin County community of Acampo. CHP Santa Rosa Area Officer Jonathan Sloat in a news release that a preliminary investigation indicated Erikson may have been hitchhiking on Highway 12 when he was struck by a vehicle at about 12:10 a.m. Sunday east of Warm Springs Road.
"There were no witnesses to the collision and CHP has no vehicle description," Sloat said. "Officers found broken glass and windshield wipers at the scene, suggesting the vehicle could have major windshield and front-end damage."
