PG&E: 40K Lose Power In Bay Area Storm
Some 40,000 PG&E customers were without power Tuesday night, during the height of the outages.

BAY AREA, CA — Nearly 4,000 Pacific Gas & Electric Co. customers in the San Francisco Bay Area were without power as of 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. A majority of the outages were related to heavy winds and rain from the first storm of the winter season.
More than half of those without power Wednesday morning lived in the North Bay, where 2,350 PG&E customers were in the dark, said spokesperson J.D. Guidi. Also without power were 1,020 East Bay customers, 374 Peninsula customers, 220 South Bay customers and 16 San Francisco customers.
Crews worked overnight and made significant progress on outages, Guidi said. At one point, 40,000 Bay Area customers lost power.
