Police Trying To Identify Skateboarder Hit By Car In Santa Rosa

The incident happened on Farmers Lane between Sonoma and Hoen avenues, according to police.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Authorities are trying to identify a skateboarder who was struck by a car and hospitalized Wednesday night in Santa Rosa. The collision was reported at 10:09 p.m. in the 1200 block of Farmers Lane, Santa Rosa police said in a news release.

When officers arrived, the skateboarder was lying injured in the middle of the roadway. Paramedics responded and took him to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.

Police described the skateboarder, who did not have any ID with him, as a light-skinned black man in his 20s.

He was listed in stable condition Thursday at the hospital, according to police.

The driver who hit the skateboarder was at the scene of the collision Wednesday night has been cooperative with the police investigation.

"The name of the driver of the vehicle is not being released at this time, as this is an ongoing investigation," Santa Rosa police said in a statement Thursday.

Police said any witnesses of the incident who haven't spoken to officers or anyone who believes they know who the skateboarder is should call Officer Jeff Adams with the Santa Rosa Police Department's Traffic Division at 707-543-3636.
