Santa Rosa Man ID'd In Deadly Hwy 12 Head-On Collision
The fatal crash happened Wednesday near Pythian Road.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A Santa Rosa man was killed in a collision between a 2015 Subaru Impreza and a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe on state Highway 12 near Santa Rosa Wednesday evening, the California Highway Patrol said. The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Troy Ersan.
Ersan was driving the Impreza west just east of Pythian Road in unincorporated Sonoma County when the eastbound Tahoe crossed into the westbound lane and struck the Impreza head-on around 5:20 p.m., the CHP said.
The Tahoe drove on top of the Impreza, flipped over and rolled off the highway, the CHP said. Ersan was killed on impact.

Ignacio Valencia, 38, of Sonoma, suffered minor to moderate injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
The collision reduced traffic on Highway 12 to one lane until the investigation and clean-up were finished at 9:40 p.m.
