Sonoma County Bicyclist Struck By Vehicle
The 73-year-old man was hit from behind and suffered a head injury.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- A bicycle rider was injured and taken to the hospital after he was struck by a vehicle on Occidental Road west of Santa Rosa on the afternoon of Dec. 21, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 73-year-old man was hit from behind around 2:40 p.m. near Occidental and Sanford roads, the Sonoma County fire and emergency dispatch center said.
The man, who was riding a bicycle with his son, suffered a head injury and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, the dispatcher said.

CHP Officer Jon Sloat said the man was conscious when the CHP arrived and it's believed he suffered moderate injuries.
