Sonoma County Harvest Fair: A panel of experts and 10Best editors have chosen the Sonoma County Harvest Fair as a nominee for the 2019 10Best Readers' Choice travel awards for the Best Fall Festival category.

Showcasing the area's bountiful harvest and world-class wines, the Sonoma Harvest Fair takes place in early October. More than 300 wines from Sonoma County wineries will offer guests a chance to sample award-winning wine paired with small bites. Bay Area locals and visitors from across the globe gather at the Sonoma County Event Center at the Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa for the annual celebration of the county’s agricultural bounty.

Rounding out the weekend is the ever popular, hilarious and action-packed World Championship Grape Stomp competition, which can only be experienced at the Harvest Fair. Teams compete trying to garner a coveted spot in the championship stomp for a grand prize of $1,500. In 2018, current World Champions represented the Harvest Fair on Live with Kelly and Ryan to attempt a Guinness World Record. The team stomped 12 liters worth of juice on live television missing the world record mark of 20 liters.
