Dear Colleagues,

In Sonoma County the cases of COVID-19 are expected to increase, straining the existing supply of medical equipment. The influenza season is winding down, with a decrease in hospitalizations and patients testing positive for flu. The risk of infection with influenza is deemed to be much lower that the risk of infection with COVID-19. Therefore I am rescinding the December 6, 2019 Influenza Health Advisory related to the use of face masks in patient areas for health workers who have not been vaccinated against seasonal influenza.
Thank you,
