Sonoma Offering Free Sandbags for Flood Damage Prevention
The sand and bags will both be available Dec. 15.

SONOMA, CA -- The City of Sonoma, in an effort to help prevent damage from potential flooding, is offering free sand and sandbags to city residents on Thursday, Dec. 15.
The sand will be at Depot Park, located in 200 block of First Street West. Residents will need to bring their own shovel. The sand has been stored outdoors and could be wet, so the sandbags may be heavy and muddy to transport.
The sand at Depot Park should only be used to fill sandbags and not taken in bulk, the city has said.
