Summer Can Officially Begin: Sonoma Sundays Concert Series

SONOMA VALLEY, CA — For many in Sonoma, summer doesn't officially begin until the Plaza fills with people, pets, food, and community — and music.

This month, Sonoma is turning up the volume on summer as a new season of live music, outdoor markets, and community events takes center stage across the valley.

On June 7, Sonoma Sundays concert series launches a new season of free concerts at the Grinstead Amphitheater.

The weekly concerts will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each Sunday with a rotating lineup of performers including salsa, swing, soul, blues, jazz, funk, mariachi, samba, and bossa nova.

Blankets, lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and dancing are encouraged.

The opening stretch of performances includes:

• June 7: Cabanijazz Project (Salsa)
• June 21: Tommy Thomsen & the Ambassadors of Western Swing (Swing)
• June 28: Alabama Mike (Soul & Blues)
