Suspected DUI Driver Crashes Into Cars, Poles In Santa Rosa

The driver drove off the roadway in the area of Clover Drive shortly before 8 p.m.

SANTA ROSA, CA -- A suspected drunk driver collided with several vehicles, mailboxes and a power pole on Saturday evening, resulting in the closure of West College Avenue for about two hours, according to police.

The driver drove off the roadway in the area of Clover Drive shortly before 8 p.m., according to police, after witnesses called 911 to report that a Nissan was driving erratically at speeds of 60 to 80 mph eastbound on College Avenue.

When police officers arrived, they found a large crowd of people detaining the driver and passenger of the car. The driver and passenger were treated for minor injuries.

The driver, identified as 20-year-old Santa Rosa resident Henry Roy, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
