The community is welcome

(Sonoma Community Center)

SONOMA, CA – Sonoma Valley Community Health Center (SVCHC), in collaboration with Sonoma Community Center, will be hosting the Fabric of Gratitude art exhibition in the Causeway Gallery, located at 276 E. Napa Street, from May 12th through May 26th.SVCHC collected squares of fabric decorated by community members during its vaccine clinics. Community members were prompted by the question, Why were you vaccinated?

The hope is to create a quilt out of these fabrics. The Opening Event will be May 12th from 5:30pm-7pm. The community is invited to celebrate the magnitude of this vaccine community effort in the Causeway, upstairs at Sonoma Community Center. Light refreshments will be provided. The Closing Event will be May 26th from 5-7pm in the Community Center’s Secret Garden.

All of Sonoma Community Health Center’s health community partners, first responders, and frontline workers are invited to come and say a few words about their experience working with the community during the pandemic. Community members will be provided with fabric squares and fabric pens so that they can create their own fabric of gratitude. The community is also invited to participate in a Community Sewing Event to sew the fabric quilt to be displayed publicly at Sonoma Community Center and Sonoma Valley Community Health Center.A date will be announced soon.
