Breaking: The California Highway Patrol says the driver was speeding on Highway 12 prior to the crash.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- The California Highway Patrol is still investigating a fatal vehicle crash that killed a male driver Sunday afternoon near Glen Ellen.
The driver of a gray 1999 Volvo S70 was speeding east on state Highway 12 west of Dunbar Road around 4 p.m., CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.
The driver lost control on a curve, left the north edge of the road, went airborne through a barbed wire fence and rolled several times through a grass field where it caught fire, Sloat said.
