VOM Chamber Ensemble Sings Sunday to Benefit Sonoma Community Center

Group of local singers to celebrate American composers, raise money for SCC

The newly redesigned Andrews Hall will resonate with the sound of music when the Valley of the Moon Chamber Ensemble (VOMCE)  performs its annual Spring concert on Sunday afternoon.

This weekend the group will gather to sing in celebration of American composers, with material ranging from the classical works of Aaron Copeland, Eric Whitacre and Samuel Barber to contemporary jazz, traditional folk tunes and prairie hymnody.

"We're so excited about sharing our music with the community,” said Dr. Brian Sebastian, conductor of the Chamber Ensemble “We've worked really hard and we love what we do."

The Chamber Ensemble was conceived when a group of local singers got together at the home of Dr. Sebastian to sing informally for a Christmas party.

As ardent supporters of the Andrews Hall redux, the Sonoma Community Center worked hard to get them on the Rotary Stage as one of the first performing groups. All proceeds benefit Sonoma Community Center’s arts programming.
