Woman Hails Ride In SF, Found Sexually Assaulted In Sonoma: Cops
The victim told Sonoma County sheriff's detectives her ID, cellphone and boots are missing after the incident in which two men are sought.

SONOMA, CA — A San Francisco woman was found beaten and sexually assaulted in Sonoma early Saturday after requesting that a ride-sharing company pick her up from a bar in the Mission District of San Francisco, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office. The 24-year-old woman had visible injuries to her face and neck when she was found about 5 a.m. Saturday morning near Safeway, 477 Napa St., in Sonoma, sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Crum said Monday in a news release.
She was also missing her ID, cellphone and a pair of black boots she had been wearing the previous night when she went out drinking at Bruno's Bar, 2389 Mission St., in San Francisco, Crum said.
The woman told sheriff's investigators that just prior to closing time at the bar, she requested a ride home from a ride-sharing company.

"A vehicle arrived and she got in but noticed another man in the back seat with her," Crum said. "A vehicle description cannot be provided at this time and it’s not clear if it was actually the ride-sharing company that picked her up."
The woman said she and the rear-seat passenger were driven to an unknown location in Sonoma where she was "beaten and choked by the rear-seat passenger, then sexually assaulted by both the passenger and driver," according to the sergeant.

"The two men were described as either Hispanic or Middle Eastern and were speaking a different language she didn’t understand," Crum said.
The victim — since confirmed to be a 24-year-old resident of San Francisco resident — escaped her attackers but not without injury, according to Crum.
The name of the ride-sharing company through which the victim hailed a ride was not disclosed, nor did Crum say whether that information was known.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Unit is investigating the case and asks anyone who has information about the incident or has found any of the items reported missing by the victim — her cellphone, ID and black boots — to call detectives at 707-565-2185.
