• UC Santa Cruz women's soccer edges DePauw (santacruzsentinel.com) — Soquel High's flag football team stayed undefeated with a tight 14-13 win over Scotts Valley, highlighted by standout plays from several Soquel athletes and a game-sealing interception. The Knights now prepare to face undefeated Aptos on Wednesday evening at Santa Cruz High, while other Santa Cruz County athletes also turned in strong performances in college soccer, cross country, and outrigger canoeing.
   

• Capitola City Manager Jamie Goldstein to retire (santacruzsentinel.com) — Capitola's longtime city manager Jamie Goldstein will retire in December after steering the city through storms, budget challenges, and major projects that also matter to Soquel families. His work with the Soquel Union Elementary School District helped renovate Jade Street Community Center and build the accessible Treasure Cove playground, while future leaders will tackle City Hall's relocation and long-delayed Capitola Mall redevelopment.
