This week, three households were invoiced for the cost of illegally dumping items on public property. It’s an expensive bill that can cost you more than $1,000.

It takes a lot of staff time, equipment costs and other fees to clear illegally dumped items from Lynwood’s streets and alleys. Last week alone, Lynwood’s Public Works crews cleared illegally dumped items from 84 different locations and those items included furniture, car parts, appliances and a Christmas tree!

Lynwood crews clean the City’s alleys on a 10-14-day rotation to ensure that the alleys are serviced on the regular basis – that amounts to clearing about 200,000 square feet of trash and debris every week.
