The City of Lynwood and the Los Angeles Dodgers have had a special connection through the decades.
In recent years, the Dodgers RBI Baseball and Softball program has been active in Lynwood. It’s a youth development program for our young baseball and softball players. Not only do the youth participants learn about the fundamentals of baseball, but they also have access to college prep workshops and youth clinics at Dodger Stadium.

But did you know one of the greatest Dodger legends lived in Lynwood?
Duke Snider may have grown up in neighboring Compton, but as an adult he chose to live in Lynwood (on Carlin Ave.).
Snider was named to the National League All-Star roster eight times and was the NL Most Valuable Player runner-up in 1955. In his 16 out of 18 seasons with the Dodgers, he helped lead the Dodgers to six World Series, with victories in 1955 and 1959. He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980.
He was one of the first two inductees into the Wall of Fame at the Lynwood’s Community Transit Center.
This week, let’s root, root, root for our hometown Dodgers to make it to the World Series!
