To keep the City of Lynwood’s alleys clean, Public Works crews clean the City’s alleys on a 10-14-day rotation. This ensures that the alleys are cleared of illegally dumped trash and debris and weeds on a regular basis.

Last week, Public Works crews cleaned the following alleys:
MLK, Jr. south alley from Harris Ave. to Muriel Dr. – items removed included mattresses, carts and transient debris, ice chests full trash, an air conditioner and plastic bags containing food and personal waste (11,000 square feet)

11680 Wright east alley abatement Cortland St. to Fernwood Ave. – items removed included a lot of weeds, debris, construction material, furniture, clothing and food waste (9,000 square feet)
11677 El Granada alley from Fernwood Ave. to Cortland St. – items removed included tires, a mattress and trash, and a concrete safe (9,000 square feet)
In addition to the regular alley rotation, Public Works crews picked up transient debris from four different locations this week including Long Beach Blvd. at Louise Ave., Josephine St. at Lindbergh Ave., MLK, Jr. Blvd. and Harris Ave. and Atlantic Ave. and Cortland St.

Here are the details:

8am-2pm
Corner of Bellinger St. and Butler Ave.
You can bring old, discarded furniture, appliances, electronic waste, bundled yard waste, and any single item that can be safely handled by two people.
Must bring proof of Lynwood residency.
You are allowed a total of two trips per Lynwood household.
NO commercial-size U-Haul trucks or commercial-sized rented vehicles
NO construction waste or trash from a worksite
NO loose mixed waste. Large bulky items ONLY
NO hazardous or medical waste
NO tires
COVID-19 safety protocols will be enforced, including masks. Please stay in your car when dropping off items.
