As a way to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the community, the Parks & Recreation Department partnered with the Harbor Area Farmer’s Market and Fiesta Taxi to provide 984  produce and protein boxes to residents of South Gate over the course of the last five months. The food deliveries were held once a month with the last delivery being held the week of Christmas.  Residents of South Gate registered online to participate in the program and extended availability was offered due to increased interest. Positive feedback was received from the community as residents appreciated the assistance during these trying times.
