Fallen Tree Forces Residents To Leave Home

Residents from the affected home had to find a place to sleep for the night.

SOUTH GATE (CNS) - The residents of a house in South Gate were forced to find a place to spend the night when half of a large tree fell on the home's front entrance, authorities said today.

No one was injured when the tree fell in front of the house in the 2600 block of Missouri Avenue around 10:25 p.m. Monday, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervising Dispatcher Phil Ulloa.

The tree also fell onto a pickup truck in the driveway of the house, a news cameraman at the scene said. A building inspector was called to inspect the house and public works crews were summoned to cut up the fallen tree.

The tree fell soon after a resident had returned home in the pickup truck, he told the cameraman.
