The Lynwood Unified School District’s Child Care/State Preschool Program is kicking off its enrollment and inviting parents to sign up their children ages 3 to 4 for school.
Registration for the program, which is FREE or low-cost, is ongoing and available to Los Angeles County residents in an effort to provide support for parents who are seeking employment, incapacitated, working or attending vocational school.
To be eligible for a full-day of preschool, children must be ages 3 to 4 by Sept. 1; parents must be working or in vocational school; and they must qualify for low-income status.

To be eligible for half-day preschool (3.5 hours), children must be age 4 by Sept. 1 and parents must qualify for low-income status. Employment is not required.
Lynwood Unified’s Preschool Program, subsidized by the State Department of Education, is an early childhood education program that gives students a solid foundation of social/emotional skills, physical/motor skills and cognitive/thinking skills needed to enter kindergarten confidently.

The program includes a structured environment that boosts pre-math and literacy skills; nurtures academic, social and emotional development; and develops motor skills, oral language and a richer vocabulary.
Preschool is offered at the following locations year-round from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
