WHAT:
To celebrate the creative spirit of Lynwood Unified and its students, the District, along with the visual and performing arts (VAPA) programs at Firebaugh and Lynwood high schools and the City of Lynwood, will host the first-ever Lynwood Festival of the Arts on May 10.
To showcase the array of artistic talent that dwell within Lynwood Unified schools and the city, this exciting event will feature many forms of art, including live student and community dances, musical and theatrical performances, art galleries, a photo booth, interactive workshops and a live chalk art contest.
This FREE event will also feature speakers who work in various capacities in the industry and representatives from local art schools, providing Lynwood students the opportunity to hone their skills.

WHY:
Spearheaded by Lynwood High VAPA teacher Luis Vega, the Lynwood Festival of the Arts is a collaboration between school teachers and community members to bring awareness, appreciation and exposure to the strong arts programs that both the District and City have developed. To further enhance the art culture within Lynwood, the festival will also serve as a fundraiser for arts clubs at the high schools.
