New Year's Events in the Los Angeles Area
Feel like seeing some fireworks this New Year's Eve? Going to a concert? Here are some choices for you.

There are several things happening in Los Angeles this New Year's weekend. Here are a few of the places you could check out.
• New Year's Eve in Downtown Long Beach
There will be fireworks at 9 p.m. to mark the hour when the East Coast celebrates the New Year's. Music and dancing will continue on Pine Avenue until midnight, when the West Coast hails the coming of 2012. More fireworks will be on display from the Queen Mary on the waterfront.

Where: Pine Avenue and Rainbow Harbor in Downtown Long Beach
When: From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rainbow Harbor and from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Pine Avenue

Price: Admission is free for the waterfront. Admission from Pine Avenue is $10 if bought in advance or $15 at the gate.
Live music and a countdown complete with fireworks at 12 a.m. are planned at Universal Studios Hollywood. It is recommended that you make use of public transportation to avoid the high-priced parking.
Where: University City Walk at Universal Studios Boulevard
When: From 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Price: $15 for a single admission and $45 to include parking. Kids under 48-inches tall can attend free.
Spend the New Year listening to Pink Martini, a 12-piece multicultural group, whose tunes will make you feel like you are celebrating in both Rio de Janeiro and Paris.

When: Two performances, 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
