From June 29 to July 4 there were 35 criminal incidents reported in South Gate by the according to the website Crime Reports.
Among the incidents were 12 vehicle thefts; 7 assaults with a deadly weapon and 6 break-ins.
Crime Reports did not list the on the scene, while a second unidentified victim, after being brought to hospital in critical condition on the night of the shooting.
