Senior Health & Wellness Expo November 8th

Learn about chronic disease management and healthy living, get specific medical questions answered and explore your options for the best Medicare plan that meets your health needs at the 2013 Senior Health & Wellness Expo on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Lynwood Senior Center located at 11329 Ernestine Avenue in Lynwood.  The 2013 Senior Health & Wellness Expo is designed to help seniors navigate the many decisions they will need to make during the 2013 Medicare Open Enrollment Period.

Local Applecare physicians will address important health issues that impact seniors. Learn how having high cholesterol puts you at risk of developing heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States from Emerson Buckhalter, M.D.  He will discuss what you should do when you find out you have high cholesterol and how to minimize the damage it causes.  Muhammad Memon, M.D., will talk about the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and Harding Young, M.D., will discuss how to have a healthy heart.

Meet representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association, hiHealth Innovations, Los Angeles County Community and Senior Services Agency, Southern California Edison, St. Francis Medical Center and the California Telephone Access Program, who will share their health information with attendees.
