South Gate Police Arrest Man in Connection with Stolen Car
The suspect attempted to flee upon being pulled over.

At approximately 3: 50 p.m. a South Gate Police officer attempted to pull over a car on Tweedy Boulevard and Otis Street after noticing that the lights on the vehicle were not securely attached. The suspects did not stop and jumped out of the car.
“ The vehicle was still in motion and crashed into a parked car,” said a spokesperson for the South Gate Police Department.

The officer was able to apprehend the driver after a short pursuit on foot. Upon verifying the information on the car it was found that it was stolen earlier that morning from Lakewood.
The driver, Habram Jaramillo, 40, from Compton was arrested in connection with the car, which was a 1998 Honda civic.
