UPDATE: Dead Woman Pushed Out of Car in I-105 Chase

The suspect pushed the woman out of the car near the corner of Harris Avenue and Josephine Street in Lynwood.

Update 3:10 a.m.: 

According to CBS LA, the car chase started around Atlantic Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near the I-105 and I-710.

After a brief chase, the suspect ran to a nearby apartment. Police have the suspect surrounded in Gardena.

HAWTHORNE (CNS) - A murder suspect who led sheriff's deputies on a
chase, pushing a fatally wounded woman from the car he was driving as he fled, was arrested today after barricading himself inside an apartment in Hawthorne.

Deputies chased the man on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Lynwood around 11:30 p.m. Thursday before he exited and fled into the apartment, a news photographer who followed the chase reported.

Deputies surrounded the apartment in the 14000 block of Chadron Avenue, said Deputy Peter Gomez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

The man pushed the woman out of the car near the corner of Harris Avenue and Josephine Street in Lynwood, where she was pronounced dead, according to the photographer.

The suspect was taken into custody around 1:20 a.m., said Deputy Don
Walker of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

It was unclear what prompted the chase or where it started, and authorities did not immediately release details of the arrest or the suspect's name.
