Councilmembers also approved flexible sidewalk repair fee waivers for residents, heard heated comments on Fremont bike lanes and goat grazing, and previewed changes to how community events get city support.

West Nile Virus Activity Surges Above 5-Year Average In SGV: Breakdown By City (patch.com) — South Pasadena is among several San Gabriel Valley cities where West Nile virus-positive mosquito samples have been detected this season, with four positive samples recorded in early August. Vector control officials say activity is above the five-year average and urge residents to dump standing water, maintain pools, and use EPA-registered repellents, especially around dawn and dusk over the holiday weekend.
