• Artist Holds Watercolor Show at The Hive (outlooknewspapers.com) — South Pasadena's Hive makers' space is hosting a free watercolor exhibition by Pasadena artist Victoria Benitez from Oct. 17 to Nov. 8 at its Mission Street Arc*Hive Gallery. An opening reception on Oct. 17 coincides with the South Pasadena Art Crawl's "Oktober-Fiesta," where you can meet the artist, enjoy refreshments, try a make-and-take watercolor activity, and explore local artisan vendors.
   

• Library Hosts Flamenco Performance (outlooknewspapers.com) — South Pasadena Library is offering a free Spanish classical and flamenco performance on Monday, Oct. 12, at 6 p.m., giving residents a lively way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Dancer Susana Elena and guitarist Randy Pile will perform, then Elena will lead a beginner-friendly castanet class, all at the Oxley Street library with more details available by phone.
   

• Way Dynamic Is Letting It Flow, And Good Things Are Happening (stereogum.com) — Way Dynamic's upcoming U.S. tour includes two nights in South Pasadena at the Sid the Cat Auditorium on Feb. 27 and 28, giving local indie fans an early heads-up. The feature dives into frontman Dylan Young's laid-back recording style, analog approach, and evolving sound around his album "Massive Shoe," which has recently been reissued and is fueling this tour.
