3 Daly City Homes Damaged As Result Of Fire, Smoke

Firefighters said they broke through a concrete driveway to find flames in the crawl space of an area home.

DALY CITY, CA — Firefighters on Wednesday afternoon extinguished a fire that burned in the crawl spaces below the driveways of three split-level homes in Daly City, according to the North County Fire Authority.

Crews responded at 3:39 p.m. to a report of a structure fire at 433 Wyandotte Ave.

Firefighters found smoke coming from the exterior crawl spaces and broke through the concrete driveway to find flames in the crawl space belonging to 433 Wyandotte Ave., fire officials said.

Crews extinguished the fire and contained it to the crawl spaces, but smoke damage was reported throughout the home as well as two adjacent ones at 427 and 421 Wyandotte Ave., according to the fire authority.

No injuries were reported, but 17 residents in the three homes were displaced. They have made their own temporary housing arrangements, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
