4 Vehicles Stolen At BART Stations In 1 Day

BAY AREA — Four BART riders reported that their SUV or cars were stolen from BART stations on Monday, and another passenger had an electric scooter stolen. In addition, three vehicles were burglarized and one had a catalytic converter stolen, a crime that often takes thousands of dollars to fix because of the replacement parts and for repairing damage done by heavy-handed thieves.

The crimes were reported at five different stations, with multiple crimes reported at some.

Especially hard hit were the Dublin/Pleasanton and Pittsburg/Bay Point stations.

There were no injuries. In each case, vehicle owners parked all day and discovered the thefts or burglaries when they returned in the evening or night.

Here are the reported auto thefts:

• Dublin/Pleasanton: 1993 Nissan Pathfinder stolen between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
• Pittsburg/Bay Point: 1988 Honda Civic stolen between 8:45 a.m. and 7 p.m.
• Ashby: 1996 Honda Accord stolen between 8:10 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.
• Pittsburg/Bay Point: 1997 Honda Civic stolen between 5:25 a.m. and 5:10 p.m.

Electric scooter theft:

• Dublin/Pleasanton: Genesis electric scooter ($540.00) was cable locked tot he bike rack. It was stolen between 7 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Auto burglaries:

• El Cerrito del Norte: 2007 328i. The left rear door was forced open. Loss: $800 pair of glasses. Burglary happened between 7:45 a.m. and 11:15 p.m.
• Pittsburg/Bay Point: 2017 Toyota Corolla. The front passenger window was smashed. Loss: $25 in cash. Burglary happened between 5:30 a.m. and 5:11 p.m.
• Pittsburg/Bay Point: 1997 Honda Civic. The point of theft and what was stolen were not noted. Burglary happened between 5:25 a.m. and 5:10 p.m.

Catalytic Converter Theft:

• Lafayette: 2001 Ford Excursion. The theft happened between 5:50 a.m. and 5:02 p.m.
