'Aggressive Fire Attack' Stops Peninsula Blaze From Spreading to Multiple Homes: Fire Officials

"The first arriving fire company found a single-family structure fully involved in fire and was threatening to extend to nearby buildings."

PACIFICA, CA – Fire crews from multiple agencies extinguished a fire that engulfed a house in Pacifca on Wednesday, according to the North County Fire Authority.

At 6:52 p.m., firefighters from seven fire companies responded to a fire at a single-family home located at 816 Edgemar Ave.

"The first arriving fire company found a single-family structure fully involved in fire and was threatening to extend to nearby buildings," fire officials said in a news release. "Fire companies made an aggressive fire attack to knock down the fire and not allow flames to reach the adjacent structures and simultaneously conducted a search inside to determine if there were any occupants needing to be rescued."

Firefighters did not find any occupants in the home, and there were no injuries to neighborhood residents or firefighters.

"There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters and fire companies remained on scene for over 4 hours completing overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully controlled," officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, fire officials said.
