Alleged Robber Tied to Crimes in South San Francisco, Other Local Cities: Police

BREAKING: So far, police say they've linked him to crimes in San Bruno, Daly City and South San Francisco. He was arrested in Pacifica.

SAN BRUNO, CA – A 36-year-old Daly City man was arrested early Saturday morning in connection with a series of robberies Friday in San Mateo County, according to San Bruno police.

Joel Terrell was arrested by San Bruno police at the scene of a disturbance in Pacifica around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on suspicion of committing a robbery and attempted robbery in San Bruno.

Officers were dispatched around 5:40 a.m. Friday on a report of a robbery at a store in the 2100 block of Crestmoor Drive, where their investigation determined that a suspect had ordered a store employee to give him cash from the register before fleeing the scene.

Then at 2:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to another store in the 2900 block of San Bruno Avenue, where they determined that a suspect had gone into the store and purchased items.

Police said when the employee opened the register, the suspect "simulated a weapon" and demanded money, but fled the scene empty handed when more customers came in to the store.

He's also been identified as a suspect in a robbery and attempted robbery that occurred Friday in Daly City and South San Francisco, according to police.
