Angry Ex-Boyfriend Shoots, Rams Woman's Car In South San Francisco, Police Say

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A 51-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly shooting at his ex-girlfriend's vehicle in South San Francisco on Monday afternoon, police said.

Danny Wooten, of San Francisco, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and other firearm offenses. He was booked into San Mateo County Jail, police said.

The case began around 4:45 p.m. Monday when Wooten pulled his Toyota Previa minivan up next to the passenger side of his ex-girlfriend's vehicle in the area of Tower Place and Airport Boulevard, where she was stopped with her friend, police said.

Wooten allegedly fired a revolver twice, hitting his ex-girlfriend's vehicle. When she tried to drive away, Wooten deliberately hit her vehicle with his black minivan, causing damage, according to police.

The suspect followed the victim's vehicle for a short distance and then fled, according to police.

After further investigation, South San Francisco officers tracked down Wooten in San Francisco and arrested him around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
