Car Theft Suspects Caught in Traffic Stop, Police Say

The suspects were identified as 53-year-old Edward Armstrong Jr. and 24-year-old Antonio Gonzalez, both San Bruno residents, police said.

Two men who allegedly fled an auto burglary in Burlingame were quickly arrested after being pulled over for a traffic violation in Daly City early Thursday morning, according to Burlingame police.

Police first responded to reports of an auto burglary and two suspicious people in the 800 block of Cowan Road in Burlingame at 1:07 a.m., police said.

The suspects left before police arrived, but the caller took down their license plate number and a description of their car, police said.

Officers confirmed that there had been an auto burglary. As they were investigating, Burlingame officers learned the suspect vehicle had been stopped for a traffic violation in Daly City.

Daly City and Broadmoor police detained the suspects until Burlingame police arrived and arrested them.
