Congratulations to Spain for capturing the World Cup FIFA 2026 championship. The real football is using your feet to kick the ball but in USA, we call it soccer.

As folks say I didn’t have a “dog in the hunt” so whoever wins is good enough; I had a gut feeling and hunch , I thought that Spain would win the World Cup over Argentina because of the grand opening and celebration cathedral La Sagrada Familia(Holy Family , Jesus, Mary, Joseph) designed by architect Antonio Gaudi after 144 years in Barcelona. Pope Leo XIV blessed the tallest church in the world. Pope Leo XIV celebrated a Solemn Mass at the Basilica of the Sagrada Família last June 10, 2026. Hence it can be a sign of the BLESSINGS for Spain.

I had a hunch that the winning goal kick would come from a Barcelona player. No idea who was the player. After a tortured grueling 104 minutes of 0-0 score, Ferran Torres , a player from Barcelona kicked the winning goal in overtime . Wow, my hunch was correct.

Ferran Torres who kicked the winning point has a connection with cathedral tower for Torre means "tower" in Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Catalan. The cathedral has a 18-Tower Master Plan with the Jesus Christ Tower, the ultimate central spire measuring 172.5 meters.
For the first time, Jesus commercials were shown during FIFA games. Players were shown kneeling and praying in between games. God was a winner during FIFA games.

Both finalists in the finale Argentina and Spain religion were Catholics; News reports many people are converting to Catholicism especially Gen-Z generation.

I visited La Sagrada Familia as part of our pilgrimage tour “Cathedrals” in 14 European countries, sometime ago but the Sagrada Familia was still on its unfinished state.

Check out the stunning light show during the grand opening celebration of La Sagrada Familia foreseeing the winning World Cup FIFA by Spain in July 2026.
