Cooling Trend Brings Some Relief From South San Francisco Heat: FORECAST

After a hot week in the Bay Area, some relief is coming. National Weather Service forecasters say the region is due for a cooling trend.

"Cooling trend starts [Friday] for most areas as onshore flow returns," the NWS says. "The far interior valleys will remain seasonably warm through [Friday] evening.

"The overall trend this weekend and into next week will be a return to more seasonable temperatures along with more extensive night and morning low clouds followed by sunny afternoons."

As for South San Francisco in particular, here's what the NWS says you can expect over the next several days:

Today
Sunny, with a high near 68. Light northwest wind becoming west 16 to 21 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.

Tonight
Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 54. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Saturday
Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 63. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.

Saturday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 52. Breezy, with a west wind 18 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.

Sunday
Sunny, with a high near 63. Breezy, with a west wind 17 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.

Sunday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. Breezy.

Monday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.
