Drunk Daly City Man Crashes Into Coastside Home: Police

Police say the man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after crashing through a fence and into a local home.

PACIFICA, CA — A Daly City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after he crashed through a fence and into a Pacifica home, police said Friday. The crash happened around 3:45 a.m. Thursday at a home located at the end of a cul-de-sac on Imperial Drive.

"When officers arrived they located the vehicle at the scene with the driver and sole occupant still inside the vehicle," Pacifica police said in a news release. "He told officers he was driving home when the collision occurred."

Twenty-six-year-old Luis Robert Martinez declined transportation to the hospital, police said.

"Officers observed [Martinez] displayed objective symptoms of intoxication and a DUI investigation was initiated," police said. "During this investigation officers determined the driver was under the influence at the time of this collision and he was placed under arrest."

Martinez was arrested and released with a court date.

The home sustained moderate damage in the crash, police said. No on inside the residence was injured in the incident.
