Off-Duty Nurse Helps Save Pedestrian Hit By Car, SMC Police Say
"The woman had visible head injuries, difficulty breathing, and was not responding to questions," police said of the incident.

PACIFICA, CA — An off-duty nurse is being credited with helping save a woman who was hit by a car in Pacifica recently, sending her to the hospital with serious injuries. The crash happened on Thursday around 6:45 p.m. in the 500 block of Crespi Drive.
"Officers arrived and found a 62 year-old woman lying in the westbound lanes of Crespi Drive," Pacifica police said in a news release over the weekend. "The woman had visible head injuries, difficulty breathing, and was not responding to questions."
Police said that an off-duty nurse was in the area when the incident occurred and they "assisted officers in providing medical care for the woman until ambulance and paramedic crews arrived."

The driver of the car involved remained at the scene and cooperated with police, as did several witnesses officials said.
"The driver showed no signs of alcohol or drug impairment," police said. "It was reported the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision."

The injured woman was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, police said. An update on her condition was not immediately available.
