First inspired by Alan Lomax's field recordings, Aireene Espiritu's music draws from latin/african rhythms, folk, bluegrass pickings and inspirations from gospel music. Accompanied mostly on her tenor ukulele, with its tonalities complementing her deep and down to earth vocals, Aireene’s songs tell stories of ghosts and the living, cultures within cultures, and human beings being human.
"I love what I heard, It's perfect for my kinda folk show: Bright, melodic, rootsy and with excellent vocals and hot pickin' too. What else can a lifelong Folk DJ ask for."
(Gene Shay, aka The Grandfather of Philadelphia Folk Music, WXPN Radio, The Folk Show)
Michael Gaither was raised on the central California coast and takes the “write what you know” idea to heart, wrapping songs around small-town life and humorous takes on everyday stuff. His love of animals and active involvement with local animal rescue work their way into Michael’s songs, as well.
