Flight From SFO to London Diverted After Crew Falls Ill

The flight was diverted "after members of the cabin crew became unwell," British Airways officials said in a statement.

SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, CA β€” A British Airways flight that left San Francisco International Airport Monday evening en route to London was diverted after the crew became sick, according to airline officials.

Flight 286 left SFO around 7:15 p.m. and was scheduled to land at Heathrow Airport but was instead diverted to Vancouver, Canada, airline officials said.

The flight was diverted "after members of the cabin crew became unwell," British Airways officials said in a statement.

After landing in Vancouver, the crew checked into a hospital as a precaution. Additionally, the airline arranged hotel accommodations for customers and is working on booking them to alternative flight to London, airline officials said.

The airline did not provide additional information about the condition of the crewmembers.

"We're sorry for the delay to our customers' flight but the safety and well-being of our customers and crew is always a top priority," airline officials said.
