Redwood City based Fresh Takes is the recipient of a Facebook Local Community Fund grant of $5,000 to develop a two-week media arts workshop for 10 young members of the East Palo Alto non-profit, Girls to Women. Girls to Women partners with families, other local youth development agencies, and local schools to provide a nurturing environment supporting 45 under-resourced school-aged girls' healthy development each year. The Redwood City Media Arts Center, Fresh Takes, empowers youth from diverse San Mateo County communities to express themselves through Media Arts Production with an emphasis on self awareness, media literacy, civic engagement, community involvement, social change and artistic excellence.
