Get In Free Today At San Francisco Zoo

The Thursday offer is for San Mateo County residents, and the zoo will be open an extra hour with special Happy Hour planned.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — As part of its 90th anniversary celebration, San Francisco Zoo & Gardens is offering free admission, extended hours and special activities to different Bay Area communities on Thursdays in Septemeber — and today, Thursday, Sept. 5, the offer is for residents of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

As part of the "Good Neighbor Free Days," the zoo will stay open one hour later, with the Thursday hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and also will a special Happy Hour with both kid and adult beverages and entertainment from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Visitors must bring a valid I.D. with each adult also providing proof of residency with one of the following:

  • A valid driver's license
  • A valid identification card
  • A utility, phone, or other local bill with your name and address, along with a current, valid photo I.D.

"The event is SF Zoo’s way of being a 'good neighbor' and thanking its constituents who come from throughout Bay Area to enjoy one of Northern California’s most popular family destinations, by receiving free admission for locals according to their place of residence," zoo officials said.
