Highway Robbery: 2 Armed, Masked Men Stop, Rob Motorists On Hwy 1 Near Half Moon Bay
The suspects were in a black Crown Victoria with tinted windows and no plates, San Mateo Co. deputies say. Gun held to one victim's head.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA - Two armed and masked men on Sunday forced a couple to stop while driving along Highway 1 in San Mateo County and robbed them while holding a gun to the head of one victim and a knife to the throat of the other, according to authorities.
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office stated that at approximately 9:30 p.m. on southbound Highway 1 between Half Moon Bay and San Gregorio, the two victims noticed a vehicle tailgating them and pulled over to let the car pass.
“The vehicle immediately cut in front of them and stopped,” the department said. “Two unknown male suspects got out of the back of the vehicle. Both suspects were wearing masks and gloves. One suspect had a handgun, the other had a knife.”

The victims were forced to roll down their windows. and one suspect held a gun to the driver’s head and demanded her purse and cell phone, deputies said. The second suspect held a knife against the passenger’s neck and demanded his wallet and cell phone.
The suspects then returned to their vehicle and fled south on Highway 1. The victims described the getaway car as a black Crown Victoria with tinted windows and no license plates, authorities said.

The male victim received minor scrapes on his neck from the knife, deputies said.
