Why: Coastal Cleanup Day is an international event that draws thousands of volunteers each year who are dedicated to picking up trash on the third Saturday of September. In San Mateo County, volunteers are needed for local beach, creek, and neighborhood cleanups to help prevent trash from entering waterways in the coming rainy season. We spend all year playing in and around our waterways, let’s give back and spend a few hours cleaning them up!
