'Keen Neighbors' Credited With Foiling South San Francisco Burglary

Police say they caught a convicted felon in possession of a stolen gun after neighbors called in a 'suspicious person.' (breaking)

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA – A convicted felon was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of burglary and possessing a gun and drugs, police said.

It all started around 5:30 a.m. when "keen neighbors noticed a suspicious person exiting a residence they knew to be unoccupied," police said in a news release.

Police quickly responded to the home, in the Sunshine Gardens neighborhood, and located a convicted felon from El Sobrante, officials said. Bryce Landes, 44, had stolen some things from the home and had a stolen handgun and some drugs with him, according to police.

Landes was arrested and booked into the county jail on $50,000 bail.
