Man Threatens To Kill Police Officer At SFO BART Station: Cops

Police said the man was in need of a psychological evaluation. (breaking)

SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, CA — A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an off-duty police officer Saturday morning at the San Francisco International Airport BART station, police said. The man approached a San Francisco police officer and allegedly threatened to hit him several times as the two were on a train platform at 6:50 a.m.

Police said the officer used pepper spray to subdue the man. The man was allegedly in need of a psychological evaluation.

Police issued the man a prohibition order intended to prevent him from using the BART system in the future.

He was taken to a hospital and then booked into jail in Redwood City on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and criminal threats.
