Peninsula Music Program Treasurer Embezzled Thousands: Police
A volunteer treasurer is suspected of embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from a middle school music program.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — The treasurer of a San Bruno school music program is suspected of embezzling between $25,000 and $35,000 from the program, police said Friday.
Michael Manuel, of San Bruno, was volunteer treasurer for the Parkside Middle School Music Boosters for the past two years, according to police.
After an investigation into funds stolen from the music program, a warrant was issued Thursday.

Manuel turned himself in on Friday, according to police. He was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail, according to police.
